We already bought some of the materials needed for our major home renovation. That includes hardwood and ceramic tiles. We bought them when there was a big sale at the nearby store. American Idol

I don't usually watch the American Idol. I decided to watch the show after I enjoyed watching America's Got Talent. I don't know what it is about talent and reality shows that got me hooked but I wasn't like this before. Even though a lot of people were talking about how they liked American Idol, I had not been influenced until the past few weeks. At first I just wanted to see what the show was all about but then later I started liking it. My hubby also watches the show with me but not always. Sometimes I feel annoyed with the people auditioning because even though they can't sing, they think they are great.

Plants Cheer Me Up

I grew up in a tropical country where I could plant flowers and do some gardening at anytime of the year. When I got here in the North Country that changed allot. I can’t grow plants outside anytime I want because it is way too cold during the winter season. Sometimes I end up picking the vegetables in the garden before they are ready because I don’t want them to get killed by an early frost. I also need to bring the potted flowers in the house before they get damaged. It is a bit of a hassle taking them in and out of the house but someone has to do it. That is also one of the reasons that I only have less than a dozen of potted flowers because I don’t have much room for them in the house. Though there is lots of space for them in the basement, I can’t put them there because there is no sunlight.

Despite the hassle of transporting my plants in and out over the changing seasons, I still like having them around. Outdoor gardening is one of my favorite things to do during the summer while having my indoor flowers cheers me up during the long winter months.

Starting today, I need to start paying more attention to the advertisements I receive in the mail. If my hubby had not check the flyers that came in the mail, we would have missed some really good deals on our grocery shopping. We also receive a sweepstakes type of promotion from a local car dealerships saying that we had won something. We stopped by at the store and won two $1 coins. Better than nothing. I will keep those one dollar coins because I have never seen that kind of money here in the US before. The only US dollar currency that I have ever seen before was paper.

I didn't have any plans to buy another purse, but when my hubby and I went to town yesterday, he asked if I wanted to go shopping. As soon as he said that, my ears perked up and I told him, "sure" with a smile on my face. My husband may have been wondering why I hadn't gone shopping for quite a while. He knows me well and how much I like shopping but since the finances have been a little tight lately I had been trying to restrain myself. Even last Christmas I did not buy anything except for food.

Why do I like this purse? I like the color and the style and it is from Victoria Secret. Along with the purse, I also bought a dress.

Vikings- Cowboys Playoff

The clock is ticking but it seems slow. I can't wait until Sunday to watch the Vikings- Cowboys playoff game. A few days ago, I saw on television news that tickets for this game were over $100 at least. Many have been anticipating this playoff and wanted to watch the game live in the metrodome. It is expected that there will be a big crowd in purple. Who do you think will win? I am in favor of the Vikings to win of course. It is my home team. I would like to see lots of action from Favre, Adrian Peterson and the rest of the Vikings players. They should win this game because they have a home field advantage. The Vikings defense needs to step up and stop the currently hot Cowboys from scoring. My husband also needs to prepare himself because during the game I will be screaming at the top of my lungs. I know myself and if the game gets really exciting I can't help myself. He definitely needs to wear his ear plugs.

I have been having a hard time getting sleep lately. I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed that I have big dark circles around my eyes. My skin also looks dry and wrinkly. I Feel Cranky

I have been feeling cranky for the past few days. It maybe from lack of sleep. I feel tired but when I go to bed to get some rest, my brain still keeps spinning. Being cranky, I don't like to talk to anybody. I just want to scream but it won't solve the problem. I drank wine which usually helps me but this time it didn't help at all. This morning I got up very early. I went online and watched some videos. While watching, I could hardly keep my eyes open so I decided to go back to bed and tried to get some sleep again. My hubby went back to bed with me and for some reason, I fell asleep. He gently got up so he wouldn't wake me up but still I noticed that he had left. It seems like every little movement wakes me up.

Prescription Medication

My hubby gets low cost prescription medication through his VA health care provider. Every time he needs a refill for his medication, he will just call his provider and they will send him what he needs. They are just a phone call away. I find it very handy to always have access to the prescription medication he needs. I wish I had that kind of health care for myself. Unfortunately I can’t be part of his health care plan.

Luggage

In the last few weeks, my hubby and I have been doing a lot of traveling. We went to Colorado and then to Illinois. Since I am the one who always does the packing and unpacking I have noticed that the condition of our luggage is deteriorating. I noticed yesterday that one of the wheels of our suitcase was broken and the other had a big cut. I told my husband that our luggage was falling apart and that we might need to buy new suitcases. If we decide to buy new luggage, I would probably buy Eagle Creek luggage. I like the Eagle Creek HC2 Hovercraft Upright 28 because its durability is rated 9.

Pork Soup

Yesterday my hubby asked me to cook pork soup. He hadn't tried this version yet but he liked my beef soup. After helping him hauling and stacking wood outside I ended up not cooking what he wanted. I asked him if I could cook it tomorrow instead. He said, no problem. After taking a short nap with him, I woke up and started cooking what he asked for yesterday. I was not expecting that he would like it because I used pork instead of beef. We have beef but it is frozen while the pork is already thawed. While blogging, my hubby came in and gave me a hug. He said that he liked my pork soup. He said that it was super soup :D.

When we bought our Chrysler Concorde three years ago, my hubby told me that we would keep that car forever. It was a big car and he liked it a lot but last month circumstances conspired to wreck it. We had an accident when we were on our way to my sister’s wedding. The car got totaled and we ended up renting a car to make it through the wedding. Fortunately, both my hubby and I didn’t get seriously injured but we got some bumps and bruises.

As soon as we got back from our trip, we started looking for a new car. We bought an old beater truck so we had a vehicle to get back and forth to town while we were still shopping for a new car. We were planning on buying a used car but instead we bought a brand new one because we got a fabulous deal on it. We needed to buy a few car accessories like the bubble side view mirror and car floor mats. Car floor mats are very important to keep the car interior clean and to avoid ruining the carpet especially now that we have a lot of snow on the ground.

My hubby and I bought an old beater truck a few weeks ago. We bought it after our car got totaled and we needed a vehicle to get back and forth to town while we were still shopping for a new car. Now that we have bought a new car, we are not using the truck anymore especially this winter season, but we will use it to haul the boat this summer. Since it is old and we seldom use it I am not sure if it’s worth buying new truck accessories for it or not.
